Spring Athletics Season Wrap-Up

in Spring 2024 by

This spring, there we had tremendous interest in the athletic program. With our students’ desire to participate in spring sports, we made a Varsity and JV team for our Girls’ Lacrosse, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Track and Field program. Even with the weekly rainy weather, the teams worked hard in practices developing sports-specific and teamwork skills. The teams consistently competed and put forth effort regardless of the outcome of the games. Congratulations to all the teams on a wonderful spring season.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse – Throughout this season, they came out ready and gave every opponent all they could handle. In one of the most exciting games, they came away with a 12-11 win against Derby in a thrilling game that came down to the wire.

Girls JV Lacrosse – Our team had many newcomers to the sport. The team worked hard to grow their skills throughout the season. After losing a close game to Fay earlier in the season, the team bounced back with a victory in their rematch against Fay at home.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse – The team had some first-time varsity players and newcomers to the sport. Led by our 8th graders, the group got better with each game. They earned their first win of the season in a tight game against Lexington Christian Academy.

Varsity Softball – With new additions to the program, the 7th and 8th graders took the time to encourage and support their teammates throughout the season. The team played their hearts out through rainy and chilly weather in a road victory at Derby.

JV Softball – The team was a supportive group that worked hard to build their skills and focus on the little success regardless of the outcome of the games. Against Tenacre Country Day, they came back from 2 runs down in the final inning to tie the game.

Varsity Ultimate Frisbee – In only its second year as a program, the varsity team took on experienced ultimate frisbee opponents throughout the season. They more than held their own against the strong competition and came away with several victories this season.

JV Ultimate Frisbee – With students new to the game of ultimate frisbee, the JV team made tremendous strides throughout the season growing their skills. They put everything they learned to the test and showcased their growth in games.

Varsity Track and Field – Led by our 7th and 8th graders, the varsity track and field team had a strong season. They placed in every field and race event this season!

JV Track and Field – Our youngest track and field team worked hard throughout the season developing their skills. They competed and worked hard in every event and several times placed in the 800m and mile races.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated coaches, who played a pivotal role in guiding our athletic teams throughout the winter season.
