One month into the academic year, we’re excited by all the ways in which our youngest students exemplify academic excellence day to day, diving joyfully into learning with curiosity, collaboration, and a beautiful sense of wonder.
In Pre-K, finding a spider in their classroom led to a wonderful journey of inquiry into spiders, where they read, wrote, counted, and problem-solved with boundless curiosity. Building spiders out of blocks, they are bringing their newfound knowledge to life through creative play. From uncovering mathematical patterns to constructing spider models, these students are joyful, inquisitive learners who embody academic excellence at every stage.
Our Kindergarten students have been learning about the life cycle of monarch butterflies, engaging in deep, critical thinking and developing a genuine sense of responsibility along with the knowledge they gained. They became kind, thoughtful caregivers, understanding that their role was to nurture the butterflies and, when the time came, release them into the world. Wishing the butterflies a safe journey to Mexico was more than just a lesson in science; it was a lesson in compassion and empathy. These young learners are already demonstrating the academic excellence that comes from curiosity, care, and a growing understanding of the world around them.
