The first set of Upper Division comments were recently shared with families. With the mindset that deeper learning comes by reflecting on our experiences, advisors will soon be meeting with each of their advisees to review those comments. These guided followup conversations are a chance for our students to think about how school life is currently going for them and also to respond to the feedback they received. Students are being asked to share which feedback they felt proud to receive, highlight suggestions they received that they think will help them improve, and share what they would like their teachers to know.
In this spirit of reflection and supporting our students, I invite you to watch the most recent webinar from our Parent Series (through ISACS)*, Never Enough: When Achievement Pressure Becomes Toxic—And What We Can Do About It with Jennifer Wallace. Reflect on the questions below as you watch the webinar.
- How might you help your child feel like they matter?
- How might you help your child feel like they are depended on and relied on to add meaningful value to others?
— Jimmy Manyuru, Upper Division Head
