This week marks National School Counseling Week, a time to recognize the collaborative work of school counselors and the meaningful impact they have on students. At Park, our Student Support Team is united by a shared commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and caring environment where students feel known, accepted, and empowered.
This commitment is enriched by the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the individuals who guide our students through challenges big and small. Julie Mumford (LICSW), with her clinical social work background, brings expertise in addressing a wide range of emotional and mental health needs. Her exceptional ability to deeply know students and forge strong connections ensures they feel supported and valued as individuals.
Annie Maness (NCSP) has a background in school psychology and provides valuable insights into how neuropsychological evaluations inform strategies for helping students thrive. She works closely with teachers to implement individualized approaches that foster student growth in all areas, creating a collaborative environment that benefits the entire community.
Anndrew Reinfeld (EdM,CAG) contributes his experience as a school counselor thoughtfully aligning individual student needs with larger school initiatives. This perspective bridges personalized student support with the broader goals of the school, enhancing cohesion across our community.
While each team member brings unique strengths, they share core skills such as active listening, stress management education, and a student-centered approach. Together, these shared values and diverse perspectives create a powerful collaboration that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of every student.
National School Counseling Week serves as a reminder of the importance of teamwork in building a school community where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
